It has been a while since I gave you all an "Under the Sea" update. So, here's a sneak peek of the seagull, mermaid's crazy, whimsical friend...
I was having fun this week thinking of other fun things to go with the mermaids, and I decided to see if I could crochet some mini seashells.
These are the ones I did...
Mermaid inspiration is back... this time with the little Kelly dolls!
If you have been following me here on my blog, or through my facebook page, you will know that I am slowly working my way through crocheting barbie outfits inspired by disney heroines. I have finished using Tinkerbell for inspiration, and now I am working on a mermaid that is inspired by Ariel from "The Little Mermaid".
Some fun trivia before we get into this project... The Disney movie of "The Little Mermaid" came out in the same month and year that I was born. Also, this is one of my most favourite Disney Heroines!
For the past week, I have been working on a fairy inspired crochet Barbie outfit. I just finished the set last night. The idea to make it was sparked by a fan of my Facebook Page Rebeckah's Treasures named Karen. She was looking for ideas on how she could make a Tinkerbell dress herself several weeks ago, so I gave her some tips.
Once I had finished working on my Crochet Ponies, I got to thinking more about it. I had already decided I was going to crochet this outfit, but I thought I would check to see if there was any crochet Tinkerbell outfits for Barbie. I didn't see any, so I thought this would be even more fun... and it was indeed!

I have been working on a fairy inspired crochet outfit for barbie. The idea to make it was sparked by a fan of my page. I am having so much fun making this outfit that when I am finished I plan to do outfits for all or most of the disney heroines.
The outfit is mostly finished. I still have to tie in some loose ends for the dress, add a snap and maybe even embellish it. I am currently working on the bottom half of the wings, and then I will work on a hair accessory.
So far she has a dress, panties, slippers (I am thinking about adding something to the tip), fairy dust pouch, a wand and part of her wings. Below are pictures of how I have progressed so far...
