Tapestry CrochetThese crochet patterns use Tapestry Crochet, a technique also know as Mosaic Crochet. It is similar to Intarsia where you switch between colours in the middle of rows to create a beautiful masterpiece. What makes Tapestry Crochet unique is the process of carrying the extra strands of yarn under the stitches as you work rather than using a new ball of yarn each time you switch colours. This way the colours needed are always available, there is less weaving in of tails at the end and it creates a thicker, sturdy structure.
If you've never tried tapestry crochet before, most of these include video tutorials and only use 2 colours, so they make great beginner's projects. Learn more about how to tapestry crochet, by visiting Carol Ventura at tapestrycrochet.com (the designer who taught me)! Please Share your Favourites so others can Enjoy them too! |
