"Style Me" Dolly's First Outfit

"Style Me" Crochet Dolly has her first outfit!

I had made the skirt back when I had made my first amigurumi dolly. So, I completed the outfit to have a t-shirt and a pair of shoes.

I will be splitting the blog post versions of this pattern into three parts. Once, I have shared all three parts, a PDF version of this entire outfit will be available to download.

First part will be published on Sunday.

The t-shirt has 2 snaps in the back. The skirt can easily be made longer, and the shoes just slip onto the feet.

She will be getting a complete wardrobe, full of fun and fancy clothes and costumes. The majority of which, will be free patterns.

They will be coming just as soon as I can get some more fabulous yarn colours, and finish crocheting the barbie dress patterns.

Life at a Slower Pace

We live life at such a fast pace, it is so easy to forget to pause for a break. So, with the last few weeks having been so busy, I took the weekend off, and I decided to take this week at a slower pace.

For the weekend, I didn't do anything crochet or business related. I had a completely lazy weekend watching series and lounging about, which was much needed.

I will still continue to crochet the barbie dresses and the chess set for my brother this week. Only, I won't be racing to get them done like I normally do.

Crochet Brides & Bridesmaid 5 Dress Previews

I have been a busy bee this past week! Four dress ideas are finished for my new pattern coming up, and a 5th is underway. I have to start off by noting that I am really impressed with how quickly I have been crocheting these dresses. Though, I must say that this will be a bonus for the pattern because let's face it, who doesn't love a crochet project that works quickly?

Their names tell you the neckline and dress type.

First we have a stunning Queen Anne Mermaid Wedding Dress - the perfect style to show off Barbie's fabulous curves!

Next to it, you can see both front and back views of the Illusion Fishtail Wedding Dress. The Fishtail is quite similar to the Mermaid; the only difference being that it has a extra, triangular portion in the back that creates gorgeous a tail.

Below, you can see a sophisticated red, off-the-shoulder, Sweetheart Capped-Sleeves Cocktail Dress. Like the wedding dresses, this also shows off her curves.

Crochet Bride & Bridesmaid Dresses Sneak Peek

Here is a little sneak peek of just a few of the necklines that will be part of the crochet bride & bridesmaid dresses.

These are rough views of how they look. Once they are finished they will look really neat!

I have around 16 different ideas for necklines, and about 10 for the skirts of the dresses.

So far with these combinations, I have designed a Queen Anne Mermaid dress, a Illusion Fishtail dress, and Sweetheart-Capped Sleeve Cocktail dress. I have many more is store and will be showing them soon.

WIP Chess for my Brother

This last week, I started crocheting a chess set for my little brother, who is 16 and loves to play the game. I have been meaning to make it for him for quite some time, and finally resolved that this year I would start and finish it.

He loves red and blue, so those are the colours his chess set will be. So far, I have nearly 6 pawns finished as you will see in the picture to the left.

This will be my go-to project when I need to take a pause from designing my upcoming crochet barbie brides / bridesmaids / just-for-fun dress patterns.

Crochet Barbie Wedding Set for Isabel by Rebeckah's Treasures

Back in August, I was commissioned to crochet a barbie wedding set for a special little girl.

Since it wasn't needed until this year for her birthday, I only started on it in December. The whole set took a few weeks to make.

These 3 hair accessories were crocheted for a dear friend of mine for Christmas. Her favourite colour is yellow and I had these two lovely shades at hand.

Each scrunchy has a new design, different from the ones in "Crochet Scrunchies - 12 Original Patterns Vol. 1". The headband will be made as part of collection of headband patterns coming later this year.

Clipping Magic ~ Invaluable Resource for Professional Looking Photos

Thanks to a really great friend of mine, I have recently come across an invaluable resource for creating professional looking photos.

It is called Clipping Magic. With this amazing free online tool, you can quickly and easily remove the backgrounds of images, so that all your left with is the object of the photo.

Then, you can EITHER leave the background transparent, so that it can be placed onto a new background or be used as a watermark image, OR you make the background completely white, or any other colour you would like it to be.

This one turned out a little smaller than I was intending it to be. It is, however, the perfect size for a little girl. So, on Saturday, I gifted it to the sweetest little girl on my block.
