Introducing Fashion Doll Mermaid Hair Accessories for all the 11 ½" fashion doll sizes!
These accessories perfectly compliment the mermaids I have been designing and crocheting for my Under the Sea pattern collection for my shop, and would be fun for other fashion doll outfits too. Completely customizable! Super quick and easy! Mix and match two hair accessory types with two unique motifs. Then pair them with beads and/or flare for even more spectacular variations...

 After all the craziness last week, I am happy to say that I am finally finished with the veils and their pattern!
This pattern is a guideline for making all sorts of stylish veils for fashion dolls like Barbie. It includes instructions for re-creating the veils pictured, plus how to design your own in all 8 of the different veil lengths (cage, shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingertip, intermission, chapel and cathedral), how to assemble them, and several crochet edgings or trims that you can use on your veils. Here's the first part of five in the Wedding Accessory series for Fashion Dolls.
This how-to-tutorial includes written instructions to make several types of headpieces such as crowns, tiaras and headbands, and how you can come up with some of your very own designs too. There are 8 crochet versions and 4 wire-beaded versions in this tutorial. Each of the crochet version can also be crocheted with beads (if you need a video tutorial for this, let me know, and I will see what I can do). Each of the wire-beaded versions come with their very own video tutorials below. These headpieces can be used on their own as a stylish accessory for your fashion doll outfits, or you can use them to fasten the veils (now available here) into place for your barbie weddings. You'll remember from last week that I had asked several of my crochet designing buddies what their most favourite pay patterns from their shops were (see Designer Favourites - Crochet Pattern Round Up)... Seeing how we all love a good freebie too, I also asked them for their most favourite free crochet patterns! So, here they all are rounded up just for you...  From the survey, the mermaids and wedding accessories are the top patterns you want next.
With Sharon needing the wedding accessories ASAP, I have started on getting those ready for you all first. So far, I've completed several headpieces - each can either be used alone as is, or can be used as a base for the veil, AND several flower appliques (those are for another post). Now I would love your help in naming all or any of the crowns, tiaras and headbands... |
