Pattern is fully written, and it has a name! There were so many wonderful suggestions, but I absolutely feel madly in love with Brittany Johnson's pattern name suggestion. Thank you so much Brittany Johnson for your "Cheesy", but Fabulous Name Suggestion: The "Happily Ever After" Collection. Officially, it will be called: "Happily Ever After" Crochet Pattern for Fashion Dolls. Brittany, you will be receiving a free copy of this pattern as soon as it is ready. Just need to finish a few more dresses for the cover photo before I can release it.

After writing up much of the pattern, I decided that the high-low and fishtail dresses could use a bit of tweaking. So I set to work on them write away. I started with the sweetheart scoop high-low first, since I still had some lavender. The first one of these was a bit more rigid. The tweaking helped to loosen it up a bit. Plus, the high-low is much more pronounced now. See first picture below for comparison. I did the fuller high-low next in blue. It is now more flowy. You can see the comparison to first in the last three pictures below. The last one to be modified was the illusion fishtail dress. I didn't have any more white on hand, but I did have some cream/ivory colour. So, I used that, and had just enough to finish the dress. The second two pictures below show the comparison between both fishtail dresses. Just need to sew some snaps onto all of the dresses, and take proper pictures for pattern cover photo. If all goes well, this pattern shall be ready by the end of this week.
Three more party dresses and a trumpet wedding gown have been added to barbie's new collection!

Last week I finished crocheting the last of the a-line/princess dress variations, and two more ball gown dresses. This leaves only one more ball gown variation, and it will have a train.
I have been working on the last ball gown variation since the weekend and I shall be finishing that one really soon. Afterwards, I will move on to other silhouette variations I have on my list. The design process for this pattern will be coming to a close before I know it. Then, I will be switching my focus to putting all dress variations into one PDF just for you. I am really looking forward to finally being able to share the pattern with you all. If all goes well, then by the end of this month the patterns will be ready!
Here are several new dress styles for Barbie's Upcoming Pattern... The first is the Asymmetrical Ice Princess Dress I showed as a WIP in Crochet Brides & Bridesmaids 5 Dress Previews. The second is a Jewel Neckline with a A-line Silhouette starting at the waist. The third is a Sweetheart Scoop High-Low Dress. The fourth is a Halter Column Dress, and the fifth is a Scoop Princess Dress.
I have been having lots of fun making the formal and bridesmaid dresses all different colours. However, this week I will get back to crocheting some more wedding dresses. |
