Last week, I also worked on several more wedding dresses. These three all feature trains, and I must say that I really do love the dresses that have them! I have crocheted 25 dresses now, and although, I still have a few more that I would like to do, I have started making progress writing up the pattern. Almost all of the silhouettes are in the pattern now. I just need to write up all the necklines, pattern notes, and all that Jazz! |
Ball Gown Dress with a TrainThis illusion ball gown dress with a train, completes the ball gown variations, and features the final neckline that will be included in the pattern. I really love how poofy it is, especially when looking at the side view. See picture to the right... This dress was actually completed before all the ones I shared with you on Tuesday. So, this is dress number 19. |
Mermaid Dresses with Trains
For the first (dress #23), I made the silhouette fuller. So, it is very similar to the ball gown varieties. I paired it with a Queen Anne Neckline since I just love that one for mermaid dresses! See picture below to the left...
For the second (dress #24), I made the silhouette as I did for the first mermaid dress, which is similar to the a-line/princesses dresses. I paired it with a scoop neckline. See picture below to the right...
There are 8 basic silhouettes [50's High-Waist (2), A-Line/Princess (5), Ball Gown (5), Column (6), Fishtail (1), High-Low (3), Mermaid (4), & Trumpet (4)], however, if you include their variations, that brings it up to at least 30 possible silhouettes. Combine this with the 20 necklines, and you have over 600 unique dresses and tops that can be made with this pattern!
Isn't that amazing? I have to say that I am so happy I started this project. I had absolutely no idea just how grand this would be when I first started out. I had estimated in the beginning that I would have about 20 necklines, but didn't think I would end up with half as many of the silhouettes I have envisioned up to today.
I have lots of fun things planned to do with pattern later this month. More news to come soon...
