While I was in between crochet projects in March, I wanted to make some more clothes for Kelly. So I made her a red halter dress, a bathing suit, and a top with shorts that can also be used for Tommy.
These are among the first clothes I crocheted for the newborn baby barbie I made when I was 15/16. These dolls are 4.5 cm long. To see more recent crochet newborn barbie clothes, follow the link.
This my third fancy Barbie outfit and my first attempt at making a Ken tuxedo outfit. I made this for my sister, Little Miss', birthday in August of 2011. I had seen some pictures online of crocheted barbie dresses with lace. So, I wanted to try that because I thought it was so pretty. I wasn't sure where to start on Ken's tuxedo jacket, so I went searching online for a pattern. Barbie's Set contains 4 pieces... The dress - which has a double skirt, a hat, a purse with a snap for fastening, and shoes (I, finally, figured out how to make them with heels!). Barbie's outfit is completely from my own imagination and my own original design. Ken's Set contains 5 pieces... A dress jacket, trousers, a dress shirt, a cummerbund, and a pair of shoes. Ken's outfit is part pattern with my own modifications and some elements were my own design. All in all the whole set contains 9 pieces. All of which were crocheted. Let's face it. When you are playing with many barbies at once, there are only so many you can hold in your hands, right? Well now, Barbie Baby Carriers makes things much easier! Plus, they're super cute!
Here are a few baby carriers I crocheted for my sisters' Barbies. Here are some of the clothing I have crocheted for the Newborn Baby Barbie. The blue dress and pink outfit were made when I was about 16/17! The rest are from 2010.

Around Christmastime 2011 (Literally), I started working on Barbie Wedding Sets for two of my sisters. Both of them adore Barbies, and they are obsessed with playing Barbie Wedding! Only they just had one simple barbie wedding dress and one formal suit for ken for both of them to share. They both asked me if I could make them their very own Barbie Wedding Dress, and I told them I would make them a full Wedding Party Set. They were both excited! Though they knew that this was going to be their Christmas Present, they also knew that it would not be ready for Christmas. I had thought about not telling them that I was going to make them a full set, but then I thought much time is going to go into this project. They should have a say in how they want it to be. Plus, my mom gave me some good pointers too. I worked on both sets at the same time, the Brides were done first and the Parents were done last. From start to finish, it took me a little less than 2 months (7-8 weeks) to complete both sets. Each was crafted from my own imagination, and everything, down to the shoes was crocheted with the exemption of the actual flowers.
