WIP Crochet Minions

In between projects, I have been working on crocheting a mini army for my hubby.  I plan to make 3 of them, each a different height.  

So far I have the tallest and smallest ones, 4.5" (11.5 cm) and 3.5" (9 cm) respectively, are almost done and the third one is more than halfway finished.  The first two are going to have one eye like shown in the photo to the left because that is what hubs prefers.  The third one is going to have 2 eyes, and will measure about 4" (10 cm)tall.

I have mostly been following this free pattern by WolfDreamer. However, as you all probably know by now, it is rare that I ever follow a pattern to the "T". 

Some changes I have made are I crochet everything including the logo on the overalls, I have crocheted a fun mouth with teeth, I designed my own eye, I changed the goggle band completely, I added an extra row to the legs, and finally, I modified the overalls from the panel part up.

I have been using circulo clea crochet cotton thread and a 1.5mm steel hook for these minions.  It is the size I use for all of my amigurumis.

The Tall 4.5"

I made this one to the full height of the pattern.  The eye is not attached yet.  For the mouth, I made a magic circle with the red, did a combo of sl sts and chs for the teeth, sewed the red circle into the middle of the mouth with black, and sl st around the mouth with yellow.

The Little 3.5"

I subtracted 16 rows to get the height of this one.  I made this one have a different hairstyle. The eye is not attached to this one either, as I need the gray for the brim of the goggles first.  For the mouth, I did the same as for the larger one, only on a smaller scale and without teeth.

The Middle 4"

I haven't finished the body for this one yet, but I will be subtracting 8 rows from the original one.  Not sure how I am going to the hair or mouth for this one at the moment.  None of the pieces are attached.  I just have them positioned for demonstrative purposes.

So far, I am having lots of fun crocheting these minions!  I am not sure when I am going to finish these as I have been having troubles locating some gray for the goggles, and now I am out of the yellow.
