My V-Shell Crochet Top Preview

Back in January, I had lots of time to crochet since my computer had gone on vacation, and one of the things I made was a little something special for me! Here's a little preview...

I would have shared this with you sooner, but it isn't very easy to take pictures of oneself. Which is why I am so grateful for my sister's recent visit. She was ever so sweet to not only take beautiful pictures of me in my favourite top, but to get me all dolled up for them too! So, a big thank you to my loving sister for making me feel really special that day.

We crocheters are usually always busy making something for someone else. Making it a rare pleasure when we get to finish something for ourselves. As you can probably imagine, it was a real treat to finish this gorgeous top for me. 

Like many of my projects the idea for this top came about when I was working on another project I made for my MIL (I hope to share it with you soon). I chose this lovely purple thread I had been saving because I knew it would be the perfect colour for me and to top it off, it matches perfectly with my new purple jeans!

This blouse starts with an elastic chain in the top edge, and it is this elastic chain that allows me to wear this top two ways - as a scoop like pictured above and off the shoulders (will share pictures of it this way when I share the pattern). I like wearing it both ways, but there is a sort of thrill that comes over me when I wear it off the shoulders.

As soon as I get a spare moment, I will be sharing the pattern for this blouse in my size (medium) on the blog for free with tips on how to adjust the size! I hope to make other sizes available as soon as I can figure out how to grade patterns properly.
