You'll Need:

• a small amount of crochet cotton thread size 10 (I use Circulo Clea)
• 1.05mm hook
• tapestry yarn needle

Gauge:

19 single crochet stitches x 19 rows = 2” (5 cm).

Abbreviations: US Terms Used

• avail - available 
• BL - back loop
• ch - chain
• FL - front loop
• f/o - fasten off
• rem - remaining
• rnd - round
• sc - single crochet
• sc2tog - single crochet 2 stitches together (see how here)
• sk - skip
• sl st - slip stitch
• st(s) - stitch(es)
• WS - wrong side

Sizing:

Fits the 2013 model of the 5½” Chelsea and the 1994 model of the 4½” Kelly fashion dolls by Mattel.

Their feet are 5/8" long by 1/4" wide. That's roughly 1.5 cm long by a little more than 0.5 cm wide.

Mary Jane Shoe Instructions:

Make 2

These shoes are worked in non-continuous rnds from the bottom-up. The ch 1 at the end of rnds do not count towards the final stitch count. Do not turn at the end of rnds. *Side facing you = WS.

ch 7 in pink or chosen colour...

   rnd 1:  work these sts into the BL of the chs – sc 2 in 2nd ch from hook, sc 4, sc 2 in the last ch, rotate the piece clockwise, now work these sts into the unworked FL of the chs – sc 2 in the first avail ch, sc 4, sc 2 in the last ch, sl st join to the first st of this rnd, ch 1 (16 sts). *Both sides of the chs are worked to create a nice oval rnd. The first st of the rem rnds will be worked into the same st as the last sl st made from here on out.

   rnd 2:  work this rnd in FL only – sc 16, sl st join, ch 1 (16 sts).

   rnd 3:  sc 5, sc2tog in BL, sc 2, sc2tog in BL, sc 5, sl st join, ch 1 (14 sts).

   rnd 4:  sc 4, sl st, ch 2, sk 4 sts, sl st, sc 4, sl st join, ch 1, f/o (12 sts).
