Last night, I kept thinking about the baby set I was commissioned to make back in October 2011 before I even thought about starting my blog and becoming a pattern writer... It's a hat a dress set a friend of mine wanted to gift for her baby niece to wear at 12-months. She wanted it to be white, to have orange and fuchsia flowers and to have a summery feel to it. This is what I came up with... I got really creative and played with crochet stitches to come up with the pretty flowers in a row you see in the dress and hat above. My friend was extremely pleased with the results and told me, "it was even better than she imagined."
I could have sworn that I wrote down how I made this dress and hat somewhere, or at least written down how I crocheted this floral stitch. So, last night I when hunting through all my notes to see if I could find it. Alas, it seems I either didn't write it down, or my notes got lost in all the moves and shuffles I've done in the past few years. I was really flustered that I couldn't find it, but thankfully, I had good pictures of the set. So, I reverse engineered what I did and finally remembered how I made this pretty stitch. I even managed to re-write the pattern for the hat - minus the large flower of course! Before I write up all sorts of fun patterns to use this stitch like the hat and dress above and maybe even a baby blanket and other fun things, I want to get your thoughts on what I should name this stitch. I am thinking a free pattern for the person that suggests a name I decide to use. Either one that is in my shop now, or they can wait a few months or so for the patterns with this stitch being used. :D What do you think this floral crochet stitch should be called?
