Coming to you on Fridays, I will share a new crochet/knit designer, a little blurb about them and three favourite pattern features from them too!
Pattern features are chosen thus - my favourite, designer's favourite and the most popular. You can view all of the latest Friday Feature spotlights here to get to know more designers. Without further ado, let me introduce you to this week's Friday Feature... Kirsten from Kirsten Holloway Designs
Kirsten originally learned to crochet when she was 9, but has only been more serious about crochet these last 3 years. Fun fact: Her husband taught her to read patterns!
She loves crocheting for the fantastic creative outlet it offers. She says, "It's like painting or sculpting, but with yarn as the medium!" She elaborates, "It also brings a lot of happiness to know others are enjoying the patterns I design." Her most favourite yarns to work with are natural fibers. However, she confesses, "Since those can be expensive, I love using 'I Love This Yarn' from Hobby Lobby." One of her favourite things is singing with a local professional choral. When she's not crocheting, she's working on the business side of things and homeschooling her children. She tells us, "If all of those things are taken care of, I love writing, singing, and spending time in nature with the family."
