Without further ado, let me introduce you to this week's Friday Feature...

Rhondda Mol of Oombawka Design, Ltd.

​Rhondda has been crocheting since 2001. Her most favourite yarns to work with are cotton yarns because they are soft and show great stitch definition when they are crocheted.

When I asked Rhondda what she loved the most about crocheting, she had this to say, "Our world is so electronically based  - everything around us is digital. People seem to be moving away from each other so quickly nowadays and we are all becoming more isolated behind our electronic devices. Our humanity and our sense of who we are as individuals seems to be disappearing. We seem to be becoming nameless and faceless. Just words on a screen... Crochet gives me a way to hold onto something important from our human past and it gives me a sense of self worth. Crochet is a skill which is taught by people, to people. I have total control over what I design and what I choose to crochet with my yarn and hook. The finished project I make is my own and it is something I can hold in my hand. It is something I can share with others. It is real and it is personal. It is handmade. It is precious."

Rhonda loves the colour purple and reading paranormal romance series. Her favourite movie is Aliens. Her favourite series is Lord of the Rings, and her favourite show is The Walking Dead.

When she's not crocheting, she's spending time with her 2 children and husband.
