As you all know, two Sundays ago, I had the sudden inspiration/urge to make pumpkins. It took me several attempts to get the first one they way I wanted it to look. I finished three of the medium to small pumpkins on the first day, and then the largest two on the following day. It was so much fun experimenting with the different sizes and creating several different vines. Each of the six pumpkins pictured are available as a bundle for sale. See Crochet Pumpkins Galore! Patterns. These crochet pumpkins each have several fun variations that you can do to give your pumpkins lots of character. They include instructions on how to make each pumpkin exactly like pictured, how to make them without the vines, and also includes 19 different vines with leaves, so you can customize the vines for your pumpkin. I used crochet cotton thread #10 with a 1.5mm hook to crochet these pumpkins, so each of them fit nicely into the palm of a hand. Due to the flexible nature of amigurumi, each one of these pumpkins can be made much bigger by using sport or worsted weight yarn with a larger corresponding hook. The smaller two of the pumpkins may be challenging for someone who is not used to crocheting small things. However, if you use worsted weight yarn instead, they are just as easy to crochet as the others. The 8 Sided PumpkinsThese three pumpkins each have 8 sides or ridges to them. The smallest one is harder to see this because I didn't sew the creases as tightly as the others. But each one can be made more pronounced than pictured here. Stout Lush was the first pumpkin to be completed. Teeny Tiny was the second and Jumbo Dwarf was the fourth. Jumbo Dwarf is the largest of all the pumpkins.
The 6 Sided PumpkinsThese next three pumpkins each have 6 sides or ridges. Plump Mini was the third pumpkin to be crocheted, Wee Giant was the fifth, and Itty Bitty was the last one. Itty Bitty is the smallest pumpkin and was not included in the voting for which pumpkin should become the free pattern.
The day after the first five pumpkins were finished until yesterday, you all were asked to vote for you most favourite pumpkin. The smallest one was not included in the voting session. I am currently rounding up the votes, and the winning pumpkin will be announced tomorrow along with its free pattern. So keep your eyes out for it. See Crochet Pumpkins Galore!
