For my sister's birthday in May 2011, we had fun making these beads from bread, glue and food colouring.
I enjoy crafting! And I love making things for Barbies! So when I was about 17/18, I made my littles sisters, Little Miss and Boo Bear each their own Barbie Bed and matching Sofa! I can hardly wait to have my own girls so I can have a good excuse for making more Doll Furniture!
I made both sets the same only different colours. You know how important fairness it to siblings/children!
For the Beds:
The headboard and footboard are thin pieces of wood that I had cut to size. Each is wrapped in fabric. I used hot glue to keep in place. The bed frame is styrofoam which I covered in batted fabric. This too was glued into place. I then glued and sewed the frame to the boards to create the bed. I then glued some lace to the bottom of each side. I finished it off with two normal sized pillows, a body pillow and a reversible blanket.
Little Miss' Sofa:
There are two piece of styrofoam as the base and one piece as the back rest. One piece of the base was covered in the contrasting material, whilst the other two pieces were covered in the batted fabric. I glued and sewed the two base pieces together, then I glued and sewed the back rest to the base. Then I created the arm rests and sewed those on to each side of the couch. I finished it off with a several pillows.
Boo Bear's Sofa:
Same method as Little Miss' Sofa, only I didn't use a contrasting colour for the base and I glued lace around the bottom border of the Sofa. She did have the same number of pillows as Little Miss. We just couldn't find them for the picture.
