This is one of my first attempts at making a baby sweater! I had originally intended it for a girlfriend who was pregnant, but I decided that the arms might be too small if she has a bigger baby. Plus, it was my first one, and I like to keep my firsties whenever possible! It is completely my own design. I was attempting to make it newborn size. However, in the end, it would probably fit a preemie baby better than a newborn. I made this in February 2011.

For my sister's birthday in May 2011, we had fun making these beads from bread, glue and food colouring.
After a few years of longing to make a topsy turvy, I finally made one for Boo Bear's birthday in May. This is my first attempt at making a topsy turvy cake! It is by no means perfect, but I think it turned out nicely. Plus, my sister absolutely loved it! Each tier is about 2-3 inches tall, with the tiers being 3", 5", and 7" in circumference. Each tier has two layers with buttercream icing in the middle. The bottom layer is vanilla pound cake, whilst the top layer is chocolate pound cake. The top, middle and bottom tiers yield 2-3, 8-10, and 12-16 pieces of cake, depending on how big/small you cut your pieces. It took me 2 days to make this cake. On the first day, I made the vanilla and chocolate pounds cakes and the buttercream icing. I also cut and iced the cakes. On the second day, I made the marshmallow fondant, covered the tiers in the fondant, and finally added some decorative touches. Continue reading to see how I made the cake with pictures, and scroll down to the bottom to see additional views of the finished cake. I enjoy crafting! And I love making things for Barbies! So when I was about 17/18, I made my littles sisters, Little Miss and Boo Bear each their own Barbie Bed and matching Sofa! I can hardly wait to have my own girls so I can have a good excuse for making more Doll Furniture!
I made both sets the same only different colours. You know how important fairness it to siblings/children! For the Beds: The headboard and footboard are thin pieces of wood that I had cut to size. Each is wrapped in fabric. I used hot glue to keep in place. The bed frame is styrofoam which I covered in batted fabric. This too was glued into place. I then glued and sewed the frame to the boards to create the bed. I then glued some lace to the bottom of each side. I finished it off with two normal sized pillows, a body pillow and a reversible blanket. Little Miss' Sofa: There are two piece of styrofoam as the base and one piece as the back rest. One piece of the base was covered in the contrasting material, whilst the other two pieces were covered in the batted fabric. I glued and sewed the two base pieces together, then I glued and sewed the back rest to the base. Then I created the arm rests and sewed those on to each side of the couch. I finished it off with a several pillows. Boo Bear's Sofa: Same method as Little Miss' Sofa, only I didn't use a contrasting colour for the base and I glued lace around the bottom border of the Sofa. She did have the same number of pillows as Little Miss. We just couldn't find them for the picture. Let's face it. When you are playing with many barbies at once, there are only so many you can hold in your hands, right? Well now, Barbie Baby Carriers makes things much easier! Plus, they're super cute!
Here are a few baby carriers I crocheted for my sisters' Barbies. Here are some of the clothing I have crocheted for the Newborn Baby Barbie. The blue dress and pink outfit were made when I was about 16/17! The rest are from 2010.

Around Christmastime 2011 (Literally), I started working on Barbie Wedding Sets for two of my sisters. Both of them adore Barbies, and they are obsessed with playing Barbie Wedding! Only they just had one simple barbie wedding dress and one formal suit for ken for both of them to share. They both asked me if I could make them their very own Barbie Wedding Dress, and I told them I would make them a full Wedding Party Set. They were both excited! Though they knew that this was going to be their Christmas Present, they also knew that it would not be ready for Christmas. I had thought about not telling them that I was going to make them a full set, but then I thought much time is going to go into this project. They should have a say in how they want it to be. Plus, my mom gave me some good pointers too. I worked on both sets at the same time, the Brides were done first and the Parents were done last. From start to finish, it took me a little less than 2 months (7-8 weeks) to complete both sets. Each was crafted from my own imagination, and everything, down to the shoes was crocheted with the exemption of the actual flowers.
