Three more party dresses and a trumpet wedding gown have been added to barbie's new collection! The trumpet dress features an off-the-shoulder neckline (new), and it quite similar to the mermaid dress, only rather than being fitted, it is more flowy. For the next dress, I found a red & black variegate yarn in my stash, and I thought it would be perfect to make a long column dress. I paired it with a v-neckline to help elongate it. Since I designed the left asymmetrical neckline differently to the first right asymmetrical, I re-designed the pattern for the right with the orange party dress. It is basically a short column with a bit of flare! The most recent dress to be completed is the plum sweetheart halter strap dress. It features a high-waist like the pink jewel one, however, I have made the skirt fuller. In Thursday's post, I will share the ballgown dress with a train (was made before all of these), and two mermaid dresses also with trains (were made after the orange dress). If you are new to Barbie's new upcoming pattern updates, I am creating a mix & match, brides, bridesmaids and other formal wear line for Barbie. All dresses are created using the same pattern with just a few minor changes to achieve different necklines and silhouettes. Overall, there will be more than 200 possible dress combinations + more than 20 possibilities for tops.
